Icelandic \u00de\u00f3rd\u00eds G\u00edslad\u00f3ttir has invited Swedish Nina Hemmingsson to the Nordic House, where they invite the audience into a conversation about their interests, themes, writing styles, discoveries and sources of inspiration.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nina Hemmingsson<\/strong> (1971) is one of Sweden&#8217;s most recognized cartoonists. She is also a poet and publisher, graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Trondheim. She mainly draws shorter comics, often comics with political and social criticism. An example of Hemmingsson&#8217;s work is <em>B\u00e4st i b\u00f6rjan<\/em> \/ B\u00e4st in the beginning. Her work has been published in the magazines Galago and Bang, the Uppsala student newspaper Ergo, and the newspaper Aftonbladet. She has also published books, <em>Hj\u00e4lp!<\/em> (2004), <em>Jag \u00e4r din flickv\u00e4n nu<\/em> (2006) and <em>Demoner &#8211; ett bestiarium<\/em> (2007). Prior to the 2010 wedding between Swedish Crown Princess Victoria and Daniel Westling, she made an anti-royalist cartoon called <em>Prinsessan &amp; Gem\u00e5len<\/em> for Aftonbladet.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-22354 lazyload\" data-src=\"https:\/\/nordichouse.is\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/nina-hemmingsson.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"544\" height=\"306\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 544px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 544\/306;\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00de\u00f3rd\u00eds G\u00edslad\u00f3ttir<\/strong> (1965) is an Icelandic children&#8217;s book author and novelist, poet and translator of well-known Swedish authors. She is educated in Nordic studies from the University of Iceland and Uppsala. G\u00edslad\u00f3ttir debuted in 2010 with the poetry collection <em>Leyndarm\u00e1l annarra<\/em> and has also appeared with the lyric collections <em>Vel\u00far<\/em> (2014) and \u00d3vissustig (2016). She is known for the children&#8217;s books on <em>Randal\u00edn og Mundi<\/em> (2012, 2013, 2015) and <em>Doddi<\/em> (2016, 2017).
