The conversation is held directly after the youth has arranged a workshop on this topic. The youth will give inside into their work and discuss with politicians, specialists and other participants. The focus area will be the biota of the ocean.<\/p>\n<p>The event is one of several youth workshops across the Nordic countries on biodiversity and ecosystems in anticipation of negotiations on a new UN agreement in this field in October. The demands of Nordic youth will be a part of the negotiations.<\/p>\n<p>The event is being held in collaboration with the project\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nordichouse.is\/en\/nordurlond-i-fokus\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\">The Nordic Region in Focus<\/a>. Nordic Atlantic Cooperation (NORA) is sponsoring the project.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><strong>The agenda which starts at 15:00:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">&#8211; Scandinavian verses performed by the band V\u00edsur og skv\u00edsur.<br \/>\n&#8211; West Nordic youth present the results of their workshop on biodiversity.<br \/>\n&#8211; Panel discussions on biodiversity. Panel participants:<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li class=\"x_MsoListParagraph\">Gu\u00f0mundur Ingi Gu\u00f0brandsson, Minister for the Environment and Natural Resources<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoListParagraph\">Hafd\u00eds Hanna \u00c6gisd\u00f3ttir, Plant Ecologist and Director of the University of Land Restoration Training Programme.<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoListParagraph\">Elva Hr\u00f6nn Hjartard\u00f3ttir, Nordic youth representative in the field of biodiversity<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoListParagraph\">P\u00e9tur Halld\u00f3rsson, chairman of Young Environmentalists<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><strong>Toolbox:<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Nordic Council has issued a toolbox for young people to use in their discussions on biodiversity and ecosystems this year and to set out their requirements and goals.
