The West Nordic Day 2019 is celebrated with a broad program, which consists of exhibitions, music, workshops for children and families and speeches from artists and academic seminaries. The West Nordic day is celebrated on September 23rd<\/sup>, yet the program stretches over two days. The purpose of the West Nordic Day is to focus and strengthen the cultural cooperation between the Faroe Islands, Greenland, and Iceland.<\/p>\n

Program for West Nordic Day<\/h3>\n

Sunday, September 22nd, there will be a workshop for children in the library together with the Faroese and Icelandic author duo Rakel Helmsdal & \u00c1slaug J\u00f3nsdottir which will be part of the seminary.<\/p>\n

Monday, September 23rd, there will be a seminary at Ver\u00f6ld fra 15:30 – 17:30. The program will take place in Icelandic.<\/p>\n

Thereafter, the program will continue at the Nordic House from 18:00 – 19:30, where there will be:<\/p>\n

1. A guided tour by Inuutech Storch in his photo exhibition<\/strong><\/p>\n

About the West Nordic Day<\/strong><\/p>\n

The West Nordic Day is held on September 23rd<\/sup> every year to increase the cooperation and strengthen the sense of closeness between the three neighbouring countries, The Faroe Islands, Greenland, and Iceland.\u00a0 The winter equinox was chosen as the date for the marking of the West Nordic history and culture in the West Nordic countries. The agreement on this West Nordic cultural cooperation is managed by the cultural ministries in the Faroe Islands, Greenland, and Iceland. Today the West Nordic Day is celebrated in all three countries simultaneously.<\/p>\n
