The Nordic House is celebrating its 50th anniversary on the 25th<\/sup><\/span>\u00a0of August and you are invited! The program begins with a free morning buffet and awesome family events, food, games and live music.<\/h2>\n

Celebrate the anniversary together with us by participating in events for the whole family including games, live music, sauna, exhibitions, food tasting and much more. The day will culminate in an outdoors concert with the Greenlandic pop-music band Nanook<\/strong>, the Norwegian hip-hop artist Miss Tati<\/strong> and the Icelandic electronic music star SEINT<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

All activities are free of charge and open for all<\/strong>, while food and drinks will be available for sale from food trucks in the festival area.\u00a0The celebration starts at 10 am with free breakfast buffet outside the Nordic House.<\/p>\n

Sigyn Bl\u00f6ndal<\/strong>, a star from the children program Stundin Okkar<\/em>, will take care of the entertainment and games for the families.<\/p>\n

The library is also a beautiful playing area with games, giant LEGO building blocks, a small castle to climb and much more!

CONCERTS<\/h2>\n

CONCERTS with young Icelandic musicians 2 PM – 3:30 PM<\/h3>\n

RuGl<\/a> reached the final round of the Icelandic Battle of the Bands in 2016, where the band received favourable reviews for their compositions and vocal arrangements. Their music is indie-inspired, soft and melodic with haunting lyrics. RuGl was founded in early 2016 by two 14-year-old girls who are school friends in the west of Reykjav\u00edk.<\/p>\n

GR\u00d3A<\/a> consist of three young girls, Fr\u00ed\u00f0a Bj\u00f6rg P\u00e9tursd\u00f3ttir, Hrafnhildur Einarsd\u00f3ttir and Karolina Einarsd\u00f3ttir. Their music is “well-exposed and well-orchestrated” as one critic phrased it; Its vocals and sound enticing.<\/p>\n

Floni<\/a>, a twenty-year-old rapper from Reykjavik has topped the Icelandic Spotify Playlist, thereby entering the hip-hop scene with a blast. \u201cThere\u2019s a way younger scene coming up now in Iceland. The hip-hop scene has grown so much.\u201d
\nBe prepared; Floni is known for his powerful live performances and a charming attitude.<\/p>\n
