This artwork by the Finnish artist\u00a0Anssi Pulkkinen<\/a>\u00a0consists of ruins of a destructed home which has been shipped from Syria by sea to Europe. The material has been sourced from destroyed Syrian homes with the full consent of the owners of the property and building matters. The remains of these homes contain concrete parts of walls, floor, stairs, and roofing from the site, but it will not be possible to identify the exact location of the history of the house itself.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Pulkkinen creates a caravan-like installation from the ruins. A wrecked house symbolises the loss of home at many levels. <\/p>\n <\/p>\n This talk is part of the extensive and diverse programme of events connected to the artwork Street View (Reassembled) organised by the Reykjavik Arts Festival, the Nordic House and Red Cross.<\/p>\n Through its diversity, through discussions and encounters, through discoveries and learnings, this rich connected programme is thought as a platform for migrants and asylum seekers to share a piece of their home and aims to give to the artwork resonance in Iceland.<\/p>\n All the events are free and open to all.<\/p>\n Reykjavik Arts Festival worked closely with the Red Cross and The Nordic House for a programme of context :<\/strong><\/p>\n Anssi Pulkkinen Artist\u00a0<\/strong>Talk :\u00a05 June at 5 PM at the Nordic House<\/strong> <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Finnish artist Anssi Pulkkinen will talk about his work Street View (Reassembled) displayed at the Nordic House for the Reykjavik Arts Festival and answer your questions.
