On 7th-8th April, The Nordic House will host a family-friendly festival, where guests can get good ideas, inspiration and advice for a greener home. More information on the festival is available here<\/a> (English) and here<\/a> (Icelandic).<\/p>\n

Family Workshop ‘Make Your Own Creature’<\/h3>\n

During the Environmental Festival on 7th<\/span>-8th<\/span> April, The Nordic House welcomes children to a creative textile workshop with focus on sustainability and textile waste.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The participants will have a chance to make a unique creature out of leftover fabrics from Icelandic textile production. The materials to be used come from Umemi, Gl\u00f3fa, Cintamani, and other Icelandic textile companies. Everyone will be welcome to tell their handmade creature’s story, so other participants would get to know it better.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The workshop is organised by textile artist and teacher Erla D\u00eds Arnard\u00f3ttir and textile artist and occupational therapist Gu\u00f0n\u00fd Katr\u00edn Einarsd\u00f3ttir. Both Erla and Gu\u00f0n\u00fd are involved with Handaband, a sustainability project which was launched in March 2017 at F\u00e9lagsmi\u00f0st\u00f6\u00f0in Vitatorgi<\/a>. The project focuses on organizing creative, alternative workshops as freetime activities.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Due to limited space registration is needed, so we kindly ask our guests to book a free ticket on tix.is using this link<\/a>. One ticket is valid for one person, either child or adult. We expect 1-2 children to be followed by 1 adult. The workshop will be held in Icelandic.\u00a0<\/span><\/h4>\n
