The exhibition is conceived in dialogue with the\u00a0Inspired by Aalto\u00a0anniversary exhibition at the Nordic House. Forms of Life orbits the modernist movement\u00b4s central question of the Total Work of Art: must our environment, from architecture to interiors, fashion and objects reflect our values and ethics? Forms of Life asks how we construct our ways of living and our identities today, and allows for conflicting points of view. We do not inhabit the media sphere in the same way that the modernists inhabited the physical world. In light of the new ecologies challenging the borders between genders and species, we are constructing new ways to care for ourselves, our kin and other lifeforms. The works on show explore contemporary relationships with matter, media and others:\u00a0from hyperreal fantasies to eco-sensual rituals. Forms of Life favours recycling and resampling strategies, alternative aesthetics and individual rituals.
