It ends at 15.50, with the possibility to experience our current exhibition &#8216;Animals No-one has seen except us&#8217; or take a stroll down in our Children&#8217;s Book Exhibition. The programme is varied, with international and national lecturers. How does today\u2019s children\u2019s literature deal with climate change and environmental issues? A lecture by professor Dagny\u0301 Kristja\u0301nsdo\u0301ttir with contributions by the Icelandic writers Kristi\u0301n Helga Gunnarsdo\u0301ttir, A\u00f0alsteinn A\u0301sberg Sigur\u00f0sson and Hjo\u0308rleifur Hjartarson.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<h3>THE RE-CREATION AND USE OF CULTURAL HERITAGE IN NORDIC CHILDREN\u2019S AND YOUTH LITERATURE<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div>A seminar on how cultural heritage, and Nordic mythology in particular, is used as an inspiration in today\u2019s literature for young people. A\u0301rmann Jakobsson (IS), Malene S\u00f8lvsten (DK), Peter Madsen (DK), Ragnhei\u00f0ur Eyjo\u0301lfsdo\u0301ttir (IS), Siri Pettersen (NO) talk about their own work and Dr. Janina Orlov (SE\/FI) discusses the use of myths and nature from a Finnish-Swedish perspective. Danish author Rasmus Bregnh\u00f8i will talk about his satirical comic series &#8220;Rasmus writes a Nordic children&#8217;s book,\u201d literary scholar Kjersti Lersbryggen M\u00f8rk from Norway gives a lecture about her research on evil in children\u2019s literature and Icelandic writer \u00deo\u0301rdi\u0301s Gi\u0301slado\u0301ttir will talk about humour in her books. Can books open doors and build bridges between people and cultures? Writer and illustrator Marit To\u0308rnqvist (NL\/SE) tells about her projects<\/div>\n<div>with refugee children and writer Kristi\u0301n Helga Gunnarsdo\u0301ttir (IS) will talk about her novel Vertu o\u0301sy\u0301nilegur &#8211; Flo\u0301ttasaga Ishmaels, a story that gives insight into the<\/div>\n<div>perspective of a child refugee coming to Iceland.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h4><\/h4>\n<div>\n<div>\n<h4>The symposium\u00a0 will be held in English.
