Men bag det tilbageholdende ydre skjuler sig b\u00e5de et m\u00e5lrettet magtmenneske og en familie, hvor moren er skaml\u00f8s racist, faren er engl\u00e6nder og broren har tatoveret et s\u00e6t knojern i panden. Og netop brorens fatale m\u00f8de med det svenske sundhedssystem var den oplevelse, der t\u00e6ndte Mirandas indre ild.
