The conference is an important milestone of a larger research project focusing on this serious social problem scenario. In this work the Reykjav\u00edk Academy cooperates with the Reykjav\u00edk Area Fire Brigade, Statistics Iceland, Registers Iceland, Iceland Directorate of Labour, The Icelandic Confederate of Labour (AS\u00cd), The Federation of General and Special Workers (SGS), Retor Language School an many others.<\/p>\n
Keynote speaker at the conference is Gillian Young, Director of Newhaven Research Scotland and Honorary Research Fellow at Heriot Watt University. Gillian is an experienced housing researcher, her fields of work include immigrant housing, housing health and well being linkages, social renting and welfare reform.<\/p>\n
