Reykjavik International Film Festival is proud to present Olivier Assayas as one of RIFF’s honorary guests in 2017. Assayas was awarded as Best Director at the Cannes Film Festival last year (2016) and has for many years been one of the most prominent film makers in France, making dozens of films that have received various awards and nominations. Assayas became famous in the 90s after his film, Irma Vep , premiered but the film is a multidimensional art work and the director’s ode to film city Hong Kong.
