School Group Screenings – Nordic Film Festival


On the occasion of Nordic Film Festival, the Nordic House has made a separate school program for students and teachers.

The Wait (DK – 2016) 27. 2. at 10:00 am -11:30 am. 
Director: Emil Langballe – 58 min – Documentary
Age: 13+ – English subtitles
Rokhsar fled Afghanistan with her family as a 14-year-old and has since waiting for permission to stay in Denmark. As the only Danish-speaking family member, she is the one responsible for communicating with the immigration authorities. The pressure has changed the young Rokhsar enormously.

Miranda – The Making of a Politician (SE – 2016) 26.2.  10:00 am -11:30 am.

Miranda is 14, and already a politician. She has achieved much in a new nationalist party, the Sweden Democrats. However, when she tries to express different political views, she immediately experiences the brutal methods of the party’s leadership. Who is Miranda, what background does she come from, and whom does she want to become?

Ingmar Bergman Through the Choreographer’s Eye (SE – 2016) 28.2 at 8 pm.
Director: Fredrik Stattin – 51 min + 39 min – Documentary + Behind the Scenes
Age: 13+ – English subtitles
In this documentary, four renowned and innovative Swedish choreographers interpret Ingmar Bergman through four unique dance performances. The dances are complemented with the voice of Ingmar Berman himself, revealing his thoughts about movement and music.
