The Nordic House is co-hosting special seminars, masterclasses and events in relation to Reykjavik International Film Festival.
This year, a special focus will be on the Baltic Countries, as they, similar to Iceland, celebrates their 100 years of independence.
The guest of honor, Jonas Mekas, will be the centre of attention on this masterclass.
Jonas Mekas, 95 years old, is a Lithuanian American filmmaker, poet and artist who has often been called “the godfather of American avant-garde cinema”. His work has been exhibited in museums and festivals worldwide.
This masterclass is moderated by Benedikt Hjartarson, university Professor and film director and chairman of WIFT Iceland, Helga Rakel Rafnsdóttir. Free admittance.
