The Nordic House participates in DesignMarch 2018 with a wide range of programs and exhibitions in five different spaces.
In our main exhibition rooms (ground floor), we invite you to a Finnish interior design exhibition: Inspired by Aalto. The exhibition presents some of Alvar Aalto ‘s classic furniture designs and some of the works he has inspired.
In the Alvar Aalto room (first floor) you will find a ceramic exhibition called Fine Lines by the Finnish designers Katariina Guthwert and Laura Pehkonen.
In our Design shop (first floor) you find 14 Icelandic designers and twelve brands. The collaboration is known under the name Reykjavik Runway.
In our Auditorium (first floor) you will find a textile workshop, Weaving Kiosk. The Weaving Kiosk is a space where weaving tools and materials are made available for anyone to use.
In Black Box, you can see the exhibition Forms of Life. The exhibition is an evolving scenography with recent works by designers and artists affiliated to the Iceland Academy of The Arts. The exhibition is conceived in dialogue with the Inspired by Aalto anniversary exhibition at the Nordic House.
