This fall, Bergen Unge Kammerorkester is going on tour to Iceland, the island of volcanic wonders. Our first stop is the Nordic House of Reykjavik on October 7th at 3:30 pm
Bergen Unge Kammerorkester (Bergen Youth Chamber Orchestra) hails from the rainy town of Bergen, Norway. Our member pool is varied -some are students at the Grieg Academy of music, some are semi-professionals, and others are still in high school or even studying to become doctors and dentists. Our leader and instructors are professional players from the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra.
We have the pleasure of presenting a playful and lyrical collaboration with violin virtuoso Atle Sponberg and renowned soprano Ann-Helen Moen. Of course, being from Norway, we are bringing Grieg with us! But our varied program includes a little of everything – from Norwegian folk music to Argentinian tango, via heart-wrenching arias by Mozart.
We are very much looking forward to performing for you!
The concert is open and free entrance for all
PS – if you can’t make it Sunday, we are performing Monday 8th in Fríkirkjan at 20:00!
