Anamnesis – Art in foyer

Welcome to the opening of Anamnesis by the Finnish painter Aki Koskinen -March 1st 5:30 pm. The Nordic House offers light refreshments. Free entrance.

Landscapes, especially winter scenes, have come to play an important role in Aki Koskinen’s painting. Trees are the defining element in his work, which he attributes to the fact that he has always lived in densely-wooded areas. His images are filled with impressions gleaned from long walks in the surrounding forests, visual impulses collected both recently and in the more distant past. With their reduced colours, the deserted landscapes strikingly reflect the meditative peacefulness of Finnish forests in winter.
